Course Requirements

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, or a Level 1 Diploma, or an appropriate NVQ Level 1, or another relevant Level 1 or Foundation qualification. You will have a pre-induction interview/assessment to make sure that this is the right level for you.

How Is It Assessed

This course is assessed by continual assessment, and learners will need to research, plan and produce practical work. All assignments have interim assessment points, when the lecturer assesses the work and shows the student how to improve their grades. Students requiring any support in producing written work, organising themselves or managing their time can get the support of one of our mentors. All student work is moderated by the awarding body.

How Is It Taught

The course is taught by a team of specialist lecturers including working professionals, who aim to help you to gain the most from the course. You are also allocated a personal tutor who will guide you through the course as well as organising any support that you may need. The course is delivered through a mixture of practical workshops, lectures and self directed study.

What Could I do Next

On successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computer Games Design. Alternatively you could progress to one of our other Creative Media or Art & Design courses such as Graphic Design and Digital Imaging or Broadcast Media (Film/TV and Radio), depending on where your interests lie.

What Else Do I Need To Know

In order for you to make an informed decision concerning your future education and career choices, advice is readily available. For all learners who do not yet have a grade C or above in English and Maths, your study programme will include English and Maths GCSE or Functional Skills classes. All of our study programmes also include an element of genuine experience of work. On successful completion of this course you will be awarded a UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology.
