Entry Requirements
This qualification is aimed at a range of learners, including:
• Those who have an interest in working with different linguistic groups in the community
• Those who have an interest in learning about the role of an interpreter
• Those who wish to acquire further qualifications to enable them to work towards becoming a Community Interpreter
Learners will need to demonstrate an ability to write in English at Level 1 or above prior to joining the course.
How Is It Assessed
The learner will build a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed against the awarding body criteria.
How Is It Taught
The course will be classroom based for 1.5 hours per week over 30 weeks.
What Could I do Next
This qualification could support working in a range of customer facing roles where language is a barrier to communication.

The award consists of three mandatory units.
