This Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (Unvented) course is designed for plumbers and heating engineers who want to install vented and unvented hot water storage systems safely, legally and in full compliance with current Building Regulations.

The course provides the knowledge, practical skills and formal certification needed to demonstrate competence when working with unvented hot water systems. Successful completion allows individuals or businesses to self-certify installations through a Competent Person Scheme or meet local Building Control requirements.

Training and assessment are aligned to the latest regulations across the UK, with dedicated course materials for England & Wales and Scotland, ensuring you are working to the correct standards wherever you operate.

Entry Requirements

To enrol, you must:

* Hold a recognised trade qualification (e.g. NVQ/SNVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or Domestic Heating)

OR

* Be working towards a relevant qualification

OR

* Provide evidence of several years’ experience in the plumbing or heating industry

How Is It Assessed

Assessment is rigorous and industry recognised. You will complete: * A combination of theory and practical examinations * Three formal assessments, including at least one practical assessment To achieve the BPEC Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems certificate and competency card, all assessments must be successfully passed. This ensures you leave the course with proven, recognised competence.

The course begins with intensive training delivered by experienced industry professionals, covering both theory and practical requirements. You will be taught in our brand-new Green Technology Hub through: * Structured classroom-based learning covering legislation and system design * In-depth study of Building Regulations relevant to unvented systems (Part G) * Practical training focused on safe installation and commissioning * Clear guidance on compliance, notification and certification
