Entry Requirements
To enrol, you must:
* Hold a recognised trade qualification (e.g. NVQ/SNVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or Domestic Heating)
OR
* Be working towards a relevant qualification
OR
* Provide evidence of several years’ experience in the plumbing or heating industry
How Is It Assessed
Assessment is rigorous and industry recognised. You will complete: * A combination of theory and practical examinations * Three formal assessments, including at least one practical assessment To achieve the BPEC Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems certificate and competency card, all assessments must be successfully passed. This ensures you leave the course with proven, recognised competence.
How Is It Taught
The course begins with intensive training delivered by experienced industry professionals, covering both theory and practical requirements. You will be taught in our brand-new Green Technology Hub through: * Structured classroom-based learning covering legislation and system design * In-depth study of Building Regulations relevant to unvented systems (Part G) * Practical training focused on safe installation and commissioning * Clear guidance on compliance, notification and certification

What Else Do I Need To Know
* Successful candidates can register with a Competent Person Scheme, allowing self-certification of unvented installations * If you choose not to join a scheme, you must notify Local Building Control before starting work * Certificates are valid for 5 years * Reassessment is available within 6 months of expiry * Previous certificates must be presented when renewing This course supports both individual engineers and businesses looking to remain compliant and competitive.
