* Are working in, or aiming to work in, construction, plumbing or heating
* Want to upskill for the growing green economy
* Are comfortable with basic maths and communicating with customers

No previous heat pump experience is required, just a willingness to learn and an interest in the future of heating.

Assessment is through a practical design project, not a formal exam. You will complete and deliver a client-style presentation that demonstrates your ability to: * Build a detailed customer profile * Calculate heat loss and energy requirements * Design an effective air source heat pump system * Cost the installation and present clear pricing options * Explain timelines, benefits and aftercare support This assessment method reflects real workplace practice and helps you build confidence in presenting to customers and employers.

How Is It Taught

Learning is practical, engaging and built around real-life scenarios. You’ll be taught in our brand-new Green Technology Hub through a mix of: * Tutor-led sessions led by industry-experienced staff * Practical activities focused on surveying properties and analysing energy use * Realistic customer case studies * Guided use of professional presentation and design tools You won’t just learn the theory, you’ll apply your knowledge to realistic projects that mirror how air source heat pumps are designed and sold in industry.
