Course Requirements

Entry Requirements

There is no formal entry requirement. Some knowledge of arithmetic, algebra and geometry is helpful, but only basic arithmetic will be assumed. After an Initial Assessment some students may be advised to follow a Maths Refresher course first. During the first few weeks of the course you can get advice from the teacher and change to the refresher course if you wish.

How Is It Taught

Doing GCSE Maths at College is very different to School, the teachers are very friendly and approachable. The maths teachers are experienced and make the learning fun and understandable with many new and excellent teaching ideas. In addition to regular attendance you will need to study outside the taught sessions, to help with this we have on-line resources designed especially for this course.

What Could I do Next

GCSE Maths (Grade 4 or above) is a very valuable qualification for a wide range of jobs and higher courses.

What Else Do I Need To Know

When you arrive, our friendly maths team will guide you through an initial assessment to make sure you’re placed on the right programme for your level and goals. Choose from daytime or evening classes to fit around your work, family, or other commitments. We understand life is busy – that’s why we offer a supportive and adaptable learning environment tailored to your needs.
