Connect Building Completed at Cauldon Campus, Delivered by Local Partners
Stoke on Trent College is pleased to announce the completion of the Connect Building at its Cauldon Campus, a major £7 million investment in state-of-the-art education facilities. The development was delivered by local construction partners and funded through the Further Education Capital Transformation Fund (FECTF), a UK government initiative, run by the Department for Education (DfE). A formal opening of the Connect Building will take place in spring 2026.
The project was led by Sneyd Construction, a Stoke-on-Trent–based contractor and the main delivery partner responsible for the build. They were supported by JPR Group, which completed all electrical and mechanical works, further demonstrating the strength and capability of local expertise involved in the development.
The Connect Building provides a modern home for the College’s Reception and Admissions teams and Health and Social Care teaching spaces, alongside seven new classrooms designed to support a growing number of learners. The new facilities include a showcase classroom equipped with the latest IT and digital learning technology.

Funding for the project was provided through the Further Education Capital Transformation Fund (FECTF), a government-backed programme supported by the Department for Education to modernise further education estates across England. The fund enables colleges to deliver safe, sustainable, and future-focused learning environments that meet the needs of students, employers, and local communities.
The Connect Building forms part of Stoke-on-Trent College’s wider capital transformation programme, which is investing across campuses throughout the city to enhance learning environments, student support, and employer engagement. Further developments, including projects at the Burslem Campus, will be announced in the coming months.
Hassan Rizvi, Principal and CEO of Stoke on Trent College, said:
“The completion of the Connect Building is a significant milestone for the College and for the city. This £7 million investment demonstrates our commitment to providing outstanding facilities that support our learners to be Skills Ready – Future Ready, our staff, and our local employers. We are proud to have worked with Stoke-on-Trent–based partners such as Sneyd Construction and JPR Group, whose expertise has been instrumental in delivering a modern, future-focused building that will benefit our community for many years to come.”
The College extends its thanks to the Department for Education, along with Seven Architecture, Arcadis, and Watermans, for their contributions to the successful completion of the project.
