Course Requirements

Entry Requirements

This course is designed for qualified, practising electricians.

You must hold one of the following (or an equivalent qualification):
* Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment
* Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
* Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification
* Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker
* Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
* Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker Qualification
* ECS Gold Card (JIB or SJIB – Installation, Maintenance or Domestic Electrician)

Qualifications must have been achieved within the last 5 years, or you must provide evidence of current competence through a valid Wiring Regulations qualification.

How Is It Assessed

Assessment focuses on your understanding of EV charging design and installation requirements. You will be assessed on your ability to: * Apply statutory and non-statutory regulations * Design compliant EV charging installations * Select appropriate protection, earthing and cabling * Demonstrate understanding of smart and future-ready EV technologies This ensures you leave the course confident, competent and compliant.

How Is It Taught

Learning combines technical theory with hands-on practical training in a specialist environment. You will be taught through: * Structured theory modules covering regulations and design principles * Practical installation training at the Advanced Green Technology Centre * Tutor-led guidance from industry-experienced professionals * High-quality course materials to support learning and future reference Training is designed to fit around experienced electricians, focusing on real-world applications rather than basic electrical theory.
