At Stoke on Trent College, we offer a range of ESOL courses for adults. English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) courses are delivered at both Burslem and Cauldon campuses.

What is the course about?

ESOL courses run all year. Our dedicated team of specialists will support you to develop reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as developing your understanding of life in Stoke on Trent. Our goal is to help you take part in community life, accessing all that Stoke has to offer you, and hopefully also support you into voluntary or paid work.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements for enrolment onto ESOL courses, and a full assessment of your English ability will be made to show you which level and stream of learning is best for you.

What else do you need to know?

Course levels cover a wide range of abilities from Pre-Entry to Level 1 and successful completion of all courses are based on an assessment at the end of the course.

At the end of each module you will be invited to sit an exam and if successful,  offered the opportunity to progress to the next module.

Our learners don’t just study ESOL. We can also support you to develop your employability, maths and digital skills.
