Course Summary

Unit 01: Introduction to the social housing sector

To provide learners with an introduction to the housing sector and specific customer service requirements within this sector. This unit will also introduce learners to generic referral groups available to tenants and the methods of accessing these.

Unit 02: Understand the principles of safeguarding and equality and diversity

In this unit learners will be introduced to the principles of safeguarding and equality and diversity.

Unit 03: Understand mental and physical ill-health

To provide learners with information regarding prevalent mental and physical health issues that tenants may experience; and providing learners with the knowledge of how to correctly record and report these issues.

Unit 04: Understand reasons for problematic behaviour

This unit will provide learners with information regarding potentially challenging behaviour in the community, and provides learners with the knowledge of how to correctly record and report these issues.

Unit 05: Understand issues affecting isolated tenants

This unit provides learners with information regarding possible issues which could affect isolated tenants and provides learners with the knowledge of how to correctly record and report these issues.

Course Requirements

Entry Requirements

* You must be aged 19+
* You must live in England (not available to people living in Ireland, Scotland or Wales)
* You must have been an EU resident for at least 3 years
* No qualifications are necessary for you to start the course.
All learners are subject to an eligibility check before you can start the course. You may be required to forward information to us about your current employment or income/benefit status to allow you to get started.

How Is It Assessed

Assessment is based on answering questions either online or by completing a paper-based question/answer paper.

How Is It Taught

As you work through the learning materials, you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you support, advice and guidance on the course content as well as providing robust feedback on the work you complete. This course consists of 2 assessments to be completed 4 weeks apart. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Tenant Support in Social Housing.

What Could I do Next

After completing a distance learning qualification and receiving confirmation from your assessor that the course has been achieved, you are able to enrol on another distance learning qualification.

What Else Do I Need To Know

The assessments are divided into units and submission of answers is per unit. Support is available from your assessor throughout the course and after the completion of each unit when the assessor will assess the answers provided and provide written feedback.
