Course Summary

This course will cover a range of key subjects from within the health and social care sector and will support you with either progression to higher level qualifications or progression into the work place. The course aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills which will support you in a wide range of health and social care provisions.

Entry Requirements

A good standard of written and spoken English which will be assessed through initial assessment at the beginning of the course, or a grade D/ 3 or above in English Language GCSE.

How Is It Assessed

You will be assessed through written assessment, which will be put together to form a portfolio of evidence.

How Is It Taught

The course is taught one evening a week at our Cauldon campus.

What Could I do Next

Progress to an Access course in Health. Progression to work as care support workers, health care support assistant.

What Else Do I Need To Know

It is recommended that you complete some work in a real work environment related to health and social care for at least 8 hours a week. This will support you in applying the knowledge to practice.
