Course Summary

To enrol onto this apprenticeship, you must have an employer who is willing to support you throughout the duration of your training and end point assessment.

The Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship is a more advanced program designed to prepare individuals for a career as a registered pharmacy technician. This apprenticeship enables you to take on more responsibilities, such as preparing and dispensing medications, providing advice to patients, and managing inventory, all under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths or English, or equivalent as well as a minumum of a GCSE Grade 4 or above in Science.
You will also need a Level 2 Pharmacy qualification or significant experience in the industry.

How Is It Assessed

The End Point Assessment for this apprenticeship consists of a portfolio of evidence. You will also undertake the 'BTEC Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technician' qualification and this is assignment based with 21 units.

How Is It Taught

During the practical period, you will attend college one day a week and for the remaining part of your contracted hours, will be in the workplace building on your knowledge, skills and behaviours.

On completion of this apprenticeship you may wish to further progress your career and consider Level 5 qualifications such as Clinical Pharmacy Practice or Pharmaceutical Science.

What Else Do I Need To Know

You will be assigned a Skills Coach who will visit and support you in the workplace and complete progress reviews in preparation for your End Point Assessment.
