Stoke on Trent College secures government investment of over £6m to support continued growth
Stoke on Trent College has secured significant government investment of over £6m to help meet growing demand for further education and technical skills across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
The funding has been awarded through the Government’s Post-16 Capacity Fund and Construction Skills Capacity Fund, recognising the College’s sustained growth and its important role in developing the skilled workforce needed to support both the regional economy and national priorities.
The investment will enable the College to build on recent successes, ensuring it has the capacity to support increasing numbers of learners while continuing to respond to the evolving needs of employers.
In recent years, Stoke on Trent College has transformed its learning environment through major investment in industry-standard facilities, including the opening of its new £2.3million Advanced Green Technology Centre. Based at the College’s Burslem Campus, the Centre is helping to equip learners with the specialist skills required to support the UK’s transition to a greener economy, with training in areas including renewable technologies, low-carbon construction and sustainable building practices.
The College has also continued to expand its provision, working closely with employers to ensure learners develop the practical skills, knowledge and experience needed to succeed in high-demand industries.

The funding reflects the Government’s ambition to increase post-16 education capacity and strengthen construction skills training to meet future workforce demand. It also recognises the College’s continued success in delivering employer-led technical education and investing in facilities that prepare learners for the jobs of tomorrow.
