Students Valentines Day Stall raises money for the homeless
As part of their Level 1 Childcare course, learners had to contribute to an event and chose to raise money for charity by running their own Valentine’s Day stall. They had planned, organised and prepared the stall helping to raise an impressive £118.
The money will go to local charity, The Gingerbread Centre, to help provide 24-hour supported accommodation for homeless lone parent families from across North Staffordshire.
The students really enjoyed the day and, in the process, developed a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours to support them in their progression to Level 2 such as, communication, teamwork and confidence building. The stall was enjoyed by many staff and students throughout the College.
As the learners personal tutor, I feel proud how they rose to the challenge and raised money for such an important cause. I hope the money they have raised supports local families.
