In 2022, Stoke-on-Trent College signed the Armed Forces Covenant. Menopause Workplace Pledge
Women make up nearly half of the UK workforce. Therefore, at Stoke on Trent College we recognise the importance of providing support, especially for women’s health. Stoke-on-Trent College are proud to sign and be a part of the Menopause Workplace Pledge which aims to take positive action to ensure everyone going through the menopause is supported. October 2023 was Menopause Awareness Month at the College. During this month, we had a variety of training including menopause awareness training for our employees and managers to raise awareness and provide the skills and knowledge to enable our managers to support their teams.
Fostering Friendly Employment
In 2023, Stoke-on-Trent proudly signed up to The Fostering Network’s Fostering Friendly employers’ scheme. This scheme helps employers to support and recognise the roles of their employees who foster. We are committed to supporting our employees who foster. Reflected through our policies and procedures, specifically our comprehensive Family-Friendly Suite of Policies, we, as an employer, continue to strive to support our employees through fostering.
Happy to Talk: Flexible Working
As a College, we pride ourselves on our flexibility. We have a detailed and comprehensive Flexible Working Policy that our team can engage with should they wish. Happy to talk Flexible Working is a scheme developed by Working Families, and the Government’s Flexible Working Taskforce which aims to help employers on their journey to designing more flexible roles. We are always looking for new ways to work productively with the engagement our of team at the heart of what we do, so we work closely with this scheme.
