T Level Education and Childcare

Course Summary

This T Level is suitable for anyone wanting a career in early years education, childcare or assisting teaching.

This course allows you to work in a variety of supervisory roles within the early year’s workforce. The course also carries UCAS points to enable progression to university to study courses such as Teaching Training
or Early Childhood Studies. You will study a variety of themes such as health and wellbeing, play, development and learning and professional development. You will also spend 2 days each week in a real work environment.

Entry Requirements

You will be aged 16-19 and need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 including English & Maths. You will have a pre-induction interview/assessment to make sure this is the right level for you. All learners will need to have a clear DBS prior to the start of the course and will be required to purchase a uniform.

How Is It Assessed

Assessment is through a combination of coursework, work-based observations, an employer project, some examinations and an end point assessment.

How Is It Taught

T Levels offer a mix of classroom learning and 'on-the-job' experience, including a substantial industry placement of at least 315 hours, around 20% of the course.

What Could I do Next

T Levels are designed to enable you to progress to university or into employment, or to a degree level Apprenticeship or further higher level study at college.

T Levels are a vocational alternative to A Levels and Apprenticeships and have been designed with leading industry experts to give you the skills, qualifications and experience you need to work in a specific industry. These exciting programmes are equivalent to 3 A Levels and help to boost your CV.
