T Level Health – Midwifery

Course Summary

This course will support you on your pathway towards becoming a Midwife and provides a foundation before your progression onto a midwifery degree at university. You will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours in areas such as working in the health care sector, infection prevention control, person centred care, assisting the midwifery team and assisting the care of newborn babies.

Entry Requirements

You should be aged 16-19 and will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and Science. You will have a pre-induction interview/assessment to make sure this is the right level for you. All learners will need a clear DBS prior to the start of the course and will be required to purchase a uniform.

How Is It Assessed

Assessment is through a combination of coursework, work-based observations, an employer project, some examinations and an end point assessment.

How Is It Taught

T Levels are delivered using state-of-the-art, specialist facilities and industry equipment found in the workplace. The mixture of classroom learning and 'on the job' experience through a minimum 9 week industry placement allows you to apply the skills developed in the classroom to a real working environment.

T Levels are designed to enable you to progress to university, into employment, to a degree level Apprenticeship or further higher-level study at college.
